Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 8 hours
Yield: 6–8 servings


Ingredients

  • 3–4 lb chuck roast
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 6–8 pepperoncini peppers
  • ¼ cup pepperoncini juice

Instructions

1. Add roast to slow cooker

Place the chuck roast in the bottom of the crockpot.

2. Season

Sprinkle ranch seasoning mix and au jus gravy mix evenly over the roast.

3. Add butter and peppers

Place butter on top of the roast. Add pepperoncini peppers and pour pepperoncini juice around the roast.

4. Cook

Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours, or until the roast is tender and shreds easily.

5. Shred and serve

Shred the roast with two forks and stir it into the juices before serving.


Simply Made Tip

For extra richness, sear the roast in a hot skillet for 2–3 minutes per side before adding it to the slow cooker. Leftovers make excellent sandwiches or sliders.
