Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts
  • Additional powdered sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and creamy.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Add flour and salt; mix until just combined.
  5. Stir in chopped nuts.
  6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until bottoms are lightly golden.
  8. Let cool for 5 minutes, then roll warm cookies in powdered sugar.
  9. After fully cooled, roll in powdered sugar again for the classic “snowball” look.
