- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- A few drops green gel food coloring (Grinch green)
- ⅓ cup powdered sugar, for rolling
- Red heart sprinkles or candy hearts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together in a medium bowl.
- Cream butter and granulated sugar together in a large bowl for 2–3 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla extract.
- Add dry ingredients gradually, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Tint dough with green gel food coloring until you reach your Grinch shade of green.
- Chill dough for 30 minutes to prevent spreading.
- Scoop dough into balls, then roll each ball in powdered sugar.
- Bake 8–10 minutes, until cookies crackle on top but remain soft.
- Press a red heart sprinkle into the warm cookie center.
- Cool completely and enjoy your festive Grinch treats!
