Ingredients

  • 1 sleeve (about 40) saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup holiday sprinkles or crushed candy canes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment or foil and lightly grease.
  2. Arrange crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Make the toffee: Melt butter and brown sugar together in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  4. Pour toffee over crackers, spreading quickly and evenly.
  5. Bake 5 minutes, until bubbling.
  6. Remove and sprinkle chocolate chips over hot toffee. Let sit 2–3 minutes, then spread evenly.
  7. Top with sprinkles or candy canes.
  8. Cool completely, then chill for at least 1 hour to set.
  9. Break into pieces and serve!
